Weyerhaeuser, Grande Prairie Lumber mill located in Grande Prairie, Alberta has an opening for a Certified Journeyman Millwright.  The mill is part of the Softwood Lumber Business.

Grande Prairie is situated four hours northwest of Edmonton, Alberta. It is the seventh largest city in the province with a population of just over 55,000 people. Grande Prairie is the “HUB” of the Peace Country enjoying a beautiful four season climate. Visitors alike enjoy a small-town atmosphere with year-round opportunities for recreation in and around the city.

  • Participation in physically demanding work in hot and cold environments.
  • Support the team W.O. backlog.
  • Meet and support team norms and standards.
  • Willingness to work in all areas of Grande Prairie Lumber Operations.
  • Willingness to support the business direction for Planning & Scheduling of work.
  • Willingness to respond to call-ins and shift change.
  • Must participate in team projects, and Shutdown area lead (leadership roles).
  • Must have a Journeyman Millwright Certification Ticket.
  • Must be able to work at heights.
  • This full time position follows a straight day, 12 hour Friday to Sunday, weekend schedule.

Career Path:
Qualified individuals enter into the process as an M3. They have opportunity to obtain an M4 skill block with journeyman status and a compliment of business skills.
