The Cellulose Fibers IT team has an opportunity available for a motivated and results oriented Infrastructure Technician to join our team at the mill in Grande Prairie, Alberta, Canada.  This position will work closely with our mill users to provide technical support for infrastructure and client tools.  The ideal candidate will:

  • Demonstrate safe work practices in a manufacturing environment
  • Provide primary support to business users for hardware/software installation, configuration and maintenance of desktops, laptops and thin client devices
  • Support for network infrastructure including servers, switches, cabling, printers and MFDs
  • Network administration duties related to domains, active directory, accounts and group permissions
  • Provide user training, perform diagnosis, troubleshooting, break/fix support and automated solutions
  • Facilitate setup, deployment and disposal of IT related equipment
  • Be part of the mill IT support group for after-hours/on-call rotation and help desk support
  • Participate in a network of IT support professionals across North America aimed to deliver consistency
  • Manage small projects and coordinate initiatives

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Computing Science Degree or Computing Science Diploma with equivalent experience
  • Minimum 1 to 2 years of professional IT experience
  • Minimum 1 to 2 years of experience with configuration and maintenance of computers, servers and network devices

  • Infrastructure and Networking Skills (i.e. CCNA – Certified Cisco Network Associate)
  • Experience with Virtual Server (i.e. VCP – VMWare Certified Professional) and Thin Client Environments
  • Experience with VOIP
  • Experience interfacing with Manufacturing Applications/Equipment
