Millar Western’s Whitecourt Wood Products Division is seeking a Relief Shipping Assistant. Reporting to the Shipping Supervisor, the successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the loading and shipping of lumber inventory and, as well, will provide guidance to truck drivers and shipping personnel. This is a part-time position, providing vacation coverage for 10 to 12 weeks per year.
The ideal candidate
The ideal candidate will have related education coupled with experience in a lumber manufacturing environment. He or she will possess strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills. Knowledge of load quality and packaging standards, LumberTrack and Microsoft Office applications would be considered assets.
