If you are a 3rd, 4th year or journeyman electrician, this is the job for you. The ideal candidate will have several years of experience in an industrial setting, preferably in a sawmill. This position is responsible for the safe maintenance, repair, installation and modification of electrical components in a sawmill. You will apply your skills to maximize uptime, quality and production.

The sawmill is located just outside of the town of Manning, Alberta. The town is situated around the scenic Notikewin River that provides an idyllic backdrop for the tree lined streets, an abundance of flower stands and pedestrian friendly streets. Medical, educational and retail services are provided to the approximate 1400 residents along with a pool, ball diamonds, curling and hockey facilities, golf course, ball diamonds and river walking trails. Manning is known as the land of the might moose and the area surrounding Manning is a paradise for hunting, fishing, quadding and snowmobiling.

Qualifications for the job:
– 3rd, 4th or journeyman Industrial Electrician
– Ability to work in a safe and efficient manner.
– Experience with motion control for electric, pneumatic and hydraulic systems
– Ability to read, interpret electrical, mechanical and architectural drawings
– Experience with PLCs (Allen Bradley, Siemens) & VFDs would be an asset
– Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic and analytical skills.
– Good interpersonal and team building skills
– Good computer skills
– Experience working a sawmill or manufacturing type environment
– Flexibility to work extra hours to support breakdowns and annual shutdowns.
– Weekend and/or shift work will required
