Background:
Weyerhaeuser is seeking a highly motivated, team oriented, self-directed key contributor to provide a broad range of IT support to multiple sites within our Wood Products organization. The incumbent will have the opportunity to be exposed to a broad set of end-to-end technology solutions.
Key Functions:
The successful candidate will collaborate and innovate with customers and virtual team members to develop IT architectures, support management best practices, and business continuity strategies including: device spares, refresh strategy, high availability design, and disaster recovery solutions.
Success in this position: Includes developing customer relationships and end user satisfaction, exhibiting proficient communication skills (written and verbal), and a commitment to successful results through the cooperation of others. The incumbent will have the opportunity to demonstrate project management and team leadership skills while leading significant projects of a technical nature within the site. This role will be responsible for technical support of business and process control infrastructure that includes network, server and client solutions (e.g. standards, best practices, security, life cycle planning, road maps, R&D, etc.).
This role will be part of the site(s) support for after-hours/on-call rotation, and local help desk.
Training will be provided to shore-up competency areas where lacking.
This role will also report to the mill for the process control responsibilities.
You will undertake assignments that challenge and broaden your existing knowledge as you support the plant’s electrical, quality and operational groups in the process control field and with world class optimization systems.
You will also work with company wide process control team resources to promote and ensure consistent standards. The mill PLC’s are Allen Bradley ControlLogix and CompactLogix, as well as Modicon Quantum series controllers using ProWorx32 programming interface.C#/VB knowledge is an asset as HMI development is via Visual Studio.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated safety focus
- Four-year degree in information technology, electrical or computer engineering or equivalent combination of education and/or experience
- Three to five years’ experience preferred in a primary manufacturing production environment
- Three to five years’ experience in technical administration of PCs, Printing, Server Management, with demonstrated broad-based technical abilities – Network skills preferred: Route, Switch, Firewall/Security, Wireless, Circuit Management, Voice, VPN, general infrastructure etc.
- Able & willing to provide site support after-hours/on call rotation and local help desk
- Experience with Configuration and maintenance of client, server and network devices
- Technical skills in Industrial Process Control design and resources
- Experience in Domain administration and active directory and supporting applications
- Capabilities in project leadership/management, training, and strategic and capital planning
- Facilitation and problem-solving skills and the ability to learn new technologies in a fast-paced environment
Highly Valued Skills:
- Microsoft certifications – MCITP – MS Certified IT Professional, MCDST – MS Certified Desktop Support Technician, MCP – MS Certified Professional
- CCNA – Certified Cisco Network Associate
- C#/VB knowledge
- Experience interfacing with or supporting infrastructure needs of a process-control environment
- Knowledge of statistical methods
