High Prairie Forest Products Division has an immediate opening for a highly motivated, professional to fill the role of:
SAWMILL SUPERVISOR
Reporting to the Sawmill Superintendent, the Sawmill Supervisor will be responsible for all aspects of safety, Quality & production for their shift in sawmill.
Functions and Responsibilities:
- Achieving production goals with the highest regard for employee safety;
- Capable of troubleshooting/observing machines to ensure production and quality standards are met;
- Assuring optimum manufacturing unit cost; develop, and educate key metrics are met.
- Maintenance Planning, planning non-emergency maintenance, coordinating PM routes;
- Effectively communicating goals and/or instructions;
- Managing conflicts
Measures and Performance:
- Safety/environmental compliance;
- Interpersonal skills;
- Maintenance/departmental/shift cost;
- Quality;
- Employee training and development;
- Production, LRF and up time;
- Maintenance & appearance of production/plant equipment.
Knowledge and Skills Required:
- Ability to communicate well – both oral and written;
- Minimum high school diploma;
- Proficient in Microsoft Office ;
- Leadership/supervisory skills;
- A minimum of five years of industrial experience;
- Ability to function independently.
