High Prairie Forest Products Division has an immediate opening for a highly motivated, professional to fill the role of:

SAWMILL SUPERVISOR

Reporting to the Sawmill Superintendent, the Sawmill Supervisor will be responsible for all aspects of safety, Quality & production for their shift in sawmill.

Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Achieving production goals with the highest regard for employee safety;
  • Capable of troubleshooting/observing machines to ensure production and quality standards are met;
  • Assuring optimum manufacturing unit cost; develop, and educate key metrics are met.
  • Maintenance Planning, planning non-emergency maintenance, coordinating PM routes;
  • Effectively communicating goals and/or instructions;
  • Managing conflicts

Measures and Performance:

  • Safety/environmental compliance;
  • Interpersonal skills;
  • Maintenance/departmental/shift cost;
  • Quality;
  • Employee training and development;
  • Production, LRF and up time;
  • Maintenance & appearance of production/plant equipment.

Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • Ability to communicate well – both oral and written;
  • Minimum high school diploma;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office ;
  • Leadership/supervisory skills;
  • A minimum of five years of industrial experience;
  • Ability to function independently.
