The Edson facility is located in central Alberta. Edson has a population of 8,646 (2012 Municipal Census) and has a full range of recreational and cultural facilities. OSB Mill, Edson has an opening for a Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic. Working as a member of the mobile shop team, you will be responsible for to become proficient with all aspects of the mobile shop activities and deliverable. Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a part of a team is a must.

Key Functions

  • Reads diagrams and schematics for work procedures
  • Troubleshooting Electrical and Pneumatics
  • Operates hoist and lift devices to position machinery in a safe manner
  • Inspects, examines, lubricates, services, diagnoses, repairs, assembles, and maintains vehicles and performs other routine maintenance work
  • Confers on a regular basis with Manager on any operational deficiencies
  • Coach and instruct apprentices

Qualifications

  • Inter Provincial Mechanics (HET) license.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with effective interpersonal skills
