Millar Western’s Fox Creek Wood Products Division is currently seeking a Planerman/Millwright.  Reporting to the Planer Supervisor, this individual will work within a team environment to provide quality service to the production group and complete preventative maintenance and improvements for the Planermill. In addition to general maintenance responsibilities, the successful candidate will be responsible for setting the planer, changing planer knives and saws, grinding flat and side head knives and performing other duties as assigned.

The ideal candidateThe ideal candidate will have several years of experience in an automated lumber manufacturing environment, working as a Journeyman Millwright and/or Planer Technician, preferably with Stetson Ross planers.  Strong communication skills (verbal and written) and the ability to work effectively with others are required. Being self-motivated and results oriented, the successful individual will be capable of taking initiative and demonstrating good mechanical trouble shooting and organizational skills. Computer experience would be considered an asset.
