Our Blue Ridge Lumber Division, located near the town of Whitecourt, Alberta, has an immediate opening in their Woodlands Department for a highly motivated, professional forester for the following position:
SILVICULTURE SUPERVISOR
Reporting to the Silviculture Superintendent, the Silviculture Supervisor will be primarily responsible for the planning and implementation of a reforestation program within an assigned area. This individual will be involved in all aspects of the reforestation process and will provide leadership and guidance to contractors and other Company staff.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Successful planning, budgeting and execution of the silviculture program
- Involved in various operational aspects of pre-harvest planning
- Relief supervision of harvesting, reclamation, and other related programs.
Required Qualifications:
- Possess a Registered Professional Forester (RPF) or Registered Professional Forester Tech (RPFT) designation for Alberta (or be eligible and willing to earn this designation).
- Be a dynamic, career-minded individual.
- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Be highly motivated with proven organizational skills.
Considered an Asset:
- Preference will be given to candidates with 3-5 years of reforestation or forest operations experience.
- Previous supervisory experience
- Proficiency with GIS applications
