Working in our industry is a good time. When it’s nice out, you either get to work outside or your shifts are short enough that you get 3 day weekends or can do fun stuff after work in the forest. The biggest issue for me when working/playing outside is shirt selection. There’s so many different materials to protect you against the elements/your own BO/pit stains/etc while still looking more dashing than a young Sean Connery or more beautiful than a pre-lip enhancement Megan Fox.

COTTON T-Shirt

Pros – Bright, cheap, slightly stretchy and not restrictive, easy to rip sleeves off Hulk style if you’re feeling extra hot
Cons – Collects sweat and stinks, heavy, gets cold when wet, often get the “bacon collar” effect

DRY FIT

Pros – Light, bright, breathable and stretchy
Cons – Although breathable they seem to hold the stench of sweat and make it more concentrated and gross. Also makes man boobs look way worse.

FLANNEL BUTTON UP

Pros – Resilient against lots of weather types, warm, lasts forever, so very stylish…
Cons – Kind of restrictive (see above picture of ripped shirt), really heavy, although in style right now ready for the bottom to fall out at any second

MERINO WOOL

Pros – Breathable, light, warm, makes you look skinnier than you are
Cons – Those crazy Spanish sheep are EXPENSIVE

SUMMARY
For recreational jaunts through the forest I enjoy the stylish, durable, multi-purpose merino wool shirts. While working and being way harder on my cloths I just stick with the cotton. Sorry for the people that have to smell me and witness how gross I am when I’m busting my butt making sure our forests are healthy.

Since we’re talking about wool and sheep, here’s a funny video about goats that faint.
