Role

Alberta Agriculture and Forestry, Edmonton: Do you have a passion for the agriculture and forestry industries? Do you enjoy providing senior professional communications advice to your clients?

As part of the Extension and Communications Services Division you will be an integral part of a team that provides strategic communications planning, issues management and media relations services to the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry. You will also support the department’s public consultation initiatives and assist with the development of various communication products while utilizing the Government of Alberta visual identity guidelines.

As the successful candidate, you will demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, have a thorough understanding of social media, as well as strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Your ability to work as a team player with minimal supervision, combined with strong interpersonal and organizational skills will be essential.

Qualifications

University degree in a related field (e.g. public relations, communications, journalism) plus a minimum of four years related experience is required. Experience providing strategic communications support and advice to clients within an organization is required. Experience providing communications support within the agriculture or forestry industries, and knowledge about government procedures will be considered assets. Equivalencies will be considered.

Salary

$2,775.64 – $3,638.48 bi-weekly
