Weyerhaeuser Company Limited is seeking four (4) full-time temporary summer students at our Grande Prairie, AB Sawmill. We are seeking individuals who are committed to safety, have a positive attitude and good work ethic. These positions will run from May to the end of August, working in our sawmill facility on 3 shift schedules:
- Tuesday to Friday days.
- Monday to Thursday night all 10.5-hours, with some scheduled overtime.
- Schedule 2 weeks days 2 weeks night rotation.
- Fri/Sat/Sun nights 12 hours.
The successful candidates must be able to work for the entire period. Payrate will be along the following guidelines:
- 1st year – $25.36/hr.
- 2nd year – $26.77/hr.
- 3rd/4th year- 28.18/hr.
Key Functions:
- Total commitment to working safely, following all safety rules and company policies and procedures
- General duties will include performing clean-up and general labour
- Responsible for safely completing general tasks required inside and outside the mill
- Work effectively in a team environment
Qualifications:
- Candidates must be 18 years of age or older and have successfully completed a minimum of one (1) year post-secondary education.
- A successful candidate must be enrolled full time in a post-secondary education program from September 2019-April 2020. Evidence of educational requirements must be provided.
- Eligible to work in Canada without sponsorship.
- Willingness to wear all required personal protective equipment.
- Ability to perform essential job functions of the position, which may include climbing stairs, navigating catwalks, lifting 50lbs, bending and performing repetitive movement tasks.
- Good communication skills.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment testing process.
- Able to perform basic math and use computers.
- Industrial or Manufacturing experience is a plus.
- Experience in a self-directed team environment is a plus.
