Millar Western’s Whitecourt, Alberta, Wood Products Division is seeking a Planer Shift Supervisor. Reporting to the Finishing Superintendent, the successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of planer shift operations, including safety, production, quality and cost.  He/she will be accountable for optimizing operational performance by establishing productive working relationships with other departments and helping to develop skill levels within the planer team.

The ideal candidate

The ideal candidate will have several years of supervisory experience, preferably in a planer mill, complemented by demonstrated leadership abilities, excellent analytical, troubleshooting, interpersonal and communications skills, and a desire for career advancement.  Previous sawmill experience, along with knowledge of SAP and/or other computerized maintenance systems, would be considered assets.
