Senior Mechanical Engineer - Work Wild

Millar Western’s advanced bleached chemi-thermo mechanical pulp mill at Whitecourt, Alberta, is seeking an enthusiastic, highly motivated individual to join our engineering team in the key role of Senior Mechanical Engineer. In this role, you will be responsible for applying your engineering skills to all areas of the mill. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, structural design, pump & piping throughout the mill, and the coordination and completion of mechanical projects in a safe and efficient manner.  Root cause analysis and designing for reliability and increased production capacity will be a large focus of the role.

The ideal candidate

The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering with 7-12 years of experience in an industrial setting, preferably in Pulp & Paper. He or she must be eligible for an APEGA membership as a Professional Engineer.  Proficiency in AutoCAD is required as well as experience working with contractors and field installations. Experience in the mechanical maintenance of a mill would be considered an asset.
