Description
Weyerhaeuser Company in Edson is currently seeking a Summer Student. The Summer Student program will run from approximately May 1, 2017 to September 1, 2017. There is a lot of interest in summer employment with Weyerhaeuser and we want to make certain the program is providing the intended benefit to students wanting to continue their education.
Requirements:
- Must be full-time college/university students who have successfully completed the previous school year at an accredited college/university AND are registered full-time for the next year of studies
- Must be able and willing to work within safe work practices
- Must have maintained a minimum 60% average in your courses for the previous semester
- Students must provide an official transcript to prove that you have completed the previous scholastic year as a full-time student at an accredited college/university. Proof of enrollment in the next full-time academic year will also be required
- Must have strong interpersonal skills
- Able to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally
- Able and willing to read and comprehend technical and non-technical information
- Able to work in confined spaces, high places
- Able to bend, twist, stoop
- Able to lift on occasion up to 50 pounds
- Able to work in a cooperative work system
- Able to meet changing requirements and needs
- Able and willing to any work shifts, weekends and holidays if needed
- Able to meet attendance requirements
- Able and willing to work in changing weather conditions
- Able to perform other duties as assigned or required

Preferred Requirements:
- Enrolled in programs applicable to our business
- Have previous experience in a mill and/or training relevant to our business, including safety courses.
