MECHANICAL MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR
QUALIFICATIONS:
Reporting to the Maintenance & Engineering Manager, the ideal candidate will possess:
- A journeyman trade certificate, technical diploma or degree in engineering
- Strong maintenance background knowledge and familiarity with manufacturing equipment.
- Experienced decision maker with proven trouble shooting skills
- 5-8 years experience is preferred
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure a safe work environment for the Mechanical Maintenance department by enforcing safe work practices, supporting company policies, investigating incidents and ensuring proper training and adherence to mechanical best practices
- Work collaboratively with Production, E&I, Technical and Purchasing departments to effectively maintain pulp mill equipment
- Manage, schedule and supervise a crew of 19, including work orders, priorities, shutdowns, breakdowns
- Manage all mechanical aspects of capital and major maintenance projects
- Work with reliability engineer(s) to coordinate preventative and predictive maintenance programs
- Initiate mechanical expense and capital budgets and oversee all mechanical maintenance costs

- Written & verbal communication, supervisory & mentoring skills fitting toward modern supervision
- Team concept work environment skills with all personnel
- Experience in maintenance and a demonstrated passion for mechanical systems
- Excellent innovation and problem solving skills
- Preference may be given to candidates with experience and qualifications in the forest industry
- In depth knowledge of MS Office, CMMS (Maximo) and solid computer skills
