Millar Western’s Fox Creek Wood Products Division, in Fox Creek, AB, is seeking an experienced
Production Superintendent.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, this individual will be responsible for overseeing the day to day operations of the Fox Creek facility including sawmill and planer departments. He/she will maintain the highest standards for safety performance, leading through personal example and employee engagement. Establishing and maintaining alignment throughout the site and workforce will be essential to optimizing safety, quality and production performance.
The ideal candidate
The ideal candidate will have post-secondary education in a related field, coupled with several years of progressively senior management experience in a lumber manufacturing environment. A thorough knowledge of all phases of sawmill/planer operations including quality control and continuous improvement will be essential for success. In addition to technical knowledge, he or she will exhibit the excellent interpersonal and communication skills required to effectively delegate tasks and to direct, support and motivate others in a team environment.
