CRITICAL SYSTEMS COORDINATOR

Reporting to the Fixed Assets Superintendent, the Critical Systems Coordinator will be responsible for key infrastructure systems such as fire systems, natural gas systems, cranes, elevators, and other related assets. As a member of this high performing team you will be responsible for working safely within the pulp mill. Chosen candidates will possess the West Fraser traits of Integrity, Respectfulness, Humility, Hard-Work, Frugality, and Teamwork.

The successful candidate will possess:

  • A valid diploma from an accredited post-secondary institution; Mechanical Technologist certification would be an asset
  • Experience in an industrial environment with ownership of infrastructure systems
  • A proven ability to build and implement systems
  • Demonstrated problem solving, troubleshooting and analytical skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and team building skills

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Manage workplace safety for you and your contractors
  • Maintain the integrity of fire systems including underground firewater piping, firewater pumps, fire hydrants, PIV’s, sprinkler systems
  • Administer all required weekly/monthly/annual testing of the fire system
  • Build and implement a crane maintenance program
  • Build and implement an elevator maintenance program
  • Build and implement a natural gas system maintenance program
  • Administer the Asbestos Maintenance Management Program
