Each year we hire over 100 employees into term positions to work within our 10 Woodlands locations in BC and Alberta located in Vavenby, Radium, Cranbrook, Prince George, Mackenzie, Vanderhoof, Houston, Chetwynd, Fort St. John, Grande Prairie (AB).

AVAILABLE POSITIONS

Planning:

  • Timber and operability reconnaissance
  • preliminary stream assessments
  • Photo interpretation
  • Timber stratification

Operations:

  • Road and cut block development
  • Site level plans and ecosystem data collection
  • Operational cruising
  • Field information mapping
  • stream and riparian assessments

Silviculture:

  • Supervision of planting, manual brushing, herbicide, and site preparation activities to ensure they are in compliance with Canfor’s safety, environmental, and quality standards.
  • Field Assistants will also be involved in completion of post-harvest prescriptions, regeneration surveys, and be involved in the updating of key Silviculture databases after completion of activities.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Current or past enrollment in a forestry program and/or forestry work experience.
  • Excellent communication skills and an ability to perform physically demanding fieldwork in a team environment.
  • A valid Class 5 driver’s license
