PLANNING FORESTER
Responsibilities include:
- Develop forest harvest plans through the detailed field assessment of timber types, landforms, watercourses and land use features
- Incorporate wildlife and other environmental values into harvest area designs
- Complete all necessary field work including cut block and road layout
- Consult stakeholders with interests in plan development areas
Skills and Qualifications required:
- Possess, or be eligible and willing to earn, a Registered Professional Forester (RPF) or Registered Professional Forest Technologist (RPFT) designation for Alberta
- Be a dynamic, career-minded individual with a strong safety focus and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Considered a strong asset:
- Candidates with 2-5 years of related experience
- Familiarity with Word, Excel, GPS and Land Resource Manager software
