PLANNING FORESTER

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop forest harvest plans through the detailed field assessment of timber types, landforms, watercourses and land use features
  • Incorporate wildlife and other environmental values into harvest area designs
  • Complete all necessary field work including cut block and road layout
  • Consult stakeholders with interests in plan development areas

Skills and Qualifications required:

  • Possess, or be eligible and willing to earn, a Registered Professional Forester (RPF) or Registered Professional Forest Technologist (RPFT) designation for Alberta
  • Be a dynamic, career-minded individual with a strong safety focus and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Considered a strong asset:

  • Candidates with 2-5 years of related experience
  • Familiarity with Word, Excel, GPS and Land Resource Manager software
