Description
Weyerhaeuser is hiring a Storeroom Technician/Coordinator. This is an exciting time at Weyerhaeuser Grande Prairie Lumber, just beginning a major upgrade of the sawmill, including the store room. This role will be responsible for coordinating the flow of the daily material and services through the storeroom to meet the mill’s production and maintenance needs. They will also be a key contributor to optimizing the SAP system records in preparation for the new sawmill equipment, and the physical design of the new world class store room. This person will be reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent.
Key Functions:
- Perform day to day buying & receiving for inventory and routine materials
- Deal with suppliers and handle issue resolution
- Responsible for Accounts Payable and Month End reports
- Maintain an inventory control system at levels that are appropriate for the requirements of the Mill
- Leads inventory cycle counts and performs associated adjustments
- Identifies and implements cost saving opportunities
- Maintains a clean safe working environment in store room related area
Qualifications
- Grade 12
- Previous purchasing or maintenance experience
- Experience in using a computerized inventory control system such as Maximo or SAP
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
- Self motivated team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Well organized and able to multitask well
- Good typing skills
- Ability to perform moderate lifting (less than 50 lbs)
- Hours of work are generally day shift, Monday to Friday, 40-45 hours per week. Specific hours based on business need
- SCMP designation, or in the process of completing/working towards it
Desirable:
- University degree in Accounting, Business, or Commerce
