Weyerhaeuser is hiring a Storeroom Technician/Coordinator. This is an exciting time at Weyerhaeuser Grande Prairie Lumber, just beginning a major upgrade of the sawmill, including the storeroom. This role will be responsible for coordinating the flow of the daily material and services through the storeroom to meet the mill’s production and maintenance needs. They will also be a key contributor to optimizing the SAP system records in preparation for the new sawmill equipment and the physical design of the new world-class storeroom.
Key Functions:
- Provide a full range of Supply Chain Management Support; this shall include assisting with replenishment of storeroom and routine materials, evaluating material movement in SAP, continual Min/Max evaluation, coordinating with corporate department to ensure material descriptions synchronize with other locations, creating material numbers, coordinating & maintaining material inventory and accountability using SAP.
- Confirm prices from suppliers, issue purchase orders, coordinate transportation and expedited deliveries.
- Perform various Accounts Payable functions such as Web Cycles, accruals, matching packing slips to invoices, etc.
- Provide data for reports and analyses of stock turnover, overstock, shortage or damaged goods.
- Train, assist and provide coverage for storeroom technician/shipper.
Qualifications:
- Grade 12
- Supply Management Training (SMT) diploma, or working toward it
- Previous purchasing or storeroom experience
- Experience in using a computerized inventory control system such as Maximo or SAP
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
- Self-motivated team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Well organized and able to multi-task well
- Strong problem solving and issue resolution skills
- Ability to perform moderate lifting (less than 50 lbs) and operate a forklift
- Hours of work are generally day shift, Monday to Friday, 40-45 hours per week. Specific hours based on business need
Desirable:
- SCMP designation, or in the process of completing/working toward it
- University degree in Accounting, Business, or Commerce
