Millar Western’s Whitecourt Wood Products Division has an immediate opening for a Buyer. Reporting to the Inventory Manager, this individual will be responsible for day-to-day inventory and direct purchasing requirements for the site’s wood products operations.  Key duties include: invoice management using the company’s SAP system; vendor review, set up and management; ensuring corporate WCB and insurance requirements are met; ordering all direct-charge items once requisitions have been approved; credit card purchases; and maintaining spare parts inventory.

The ideal candidate

The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and dynamic, capable of working with little supervision within a team environment. He or she will have a minimum Grade 12 education, a valid driver’s license as well as good verbal and written communications abilities and computer skills.  Previous experience in Materials Management and SAP, as well as an SCMP designation (or continuing progress toward), would be considered assets.
