Our Hinton Pulp Division is seeking individuals with strong technical, leadership, planning, organization and interpersonal skills to fill the following position:

IN SERVICE BOILER & PRESSURE VESSEL INSPECTOR

 Reporting to the Chief Inspector, this position is responsible for: 

  • Completing boiler and pressure vessel inspections, developing equipment specific inspection plans, and entering Maximo work orders to perform inspections to ensure no pressure equipment on Hinton Pulp’s boiler and pressure vessel inventory is past due.
  • Developing repair and alteration procedures, completing inspections, and certifying repairs and alternations in conjunction with the appropriate organizations, to ensure repairs and alterations have been completed in accordance with Hinton Pulp’s PEIMS (Pressure Equipment Inventory Management System) Manual.
  • Making recommendations for updates to manuals, codes, and standards required to effectively implement Hinton Pulp’s PEIMS.
  • Acting as a resource for Operations and Maintenance personnel on implementation of Hinton Pulp’s PEIMS.
  • Assisting in the development of programs, policies and work instructions that interface with, or are part of, the PEIMS.
  • Manage the pressure relied device (PRD) program. Work with operations and maintenance to ensure that the PRD’s are changed at the set interval. Ensures that existing design specifications for PRD’s are maintained on file.
  • Review the Data/Service Reports of PRDs and maintains the records.

The successful candidate must:

  • Possess an ABSA In-Service Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspector Certificate.
  • Commit to the certification requirements which include 15 weeks of inspection experience, and 80 hours of seminar, course, or workshop completion every 5 years.
  • Have a minimum of 2 years of experience inspecting pressure equipment in a pulp mill; a minimum of 5 years of experience for candidates with no pulp experience.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work independently, and as part of a team.
  • Possess a working knowledge of computer software/applications.
  • Be highly organized with superior analytical skills.
  • Possess a desire to progress, learn and succeed.
