Millar Western’s Woodlands team is seeking a contract Log Scaler. Reporting to the Wood Procurement Forester, the successful candidate will be primarily responsible for log scaling and sample load management, ensuring aspects of the company’s log measurement best management practices are followed at its Fox Creek Wood Products Division. The contractor may also assist in other Millar Western woodlands activities.
The ideal contractor
The ideal contractor will have a valid scaling permit in the Province of Alberta. The contractor will be capable of conducting scaling activities in a conscientious manner consistent with the Alberta Scaling Manual and adhering to Scaling and Timber Management Regulations. Contractor or staff eligibility for registration with the Alberta Association of Forest Management Professionals (AAFMP) would be an asset.
