The 3rd class Power Engineer is responsible for ensuring the safe, and efficient operation of the thermal oil system, maintaining records associated with compliance for environmental standards, ABSA, and insurance standards, assisting with planning and executing maintenance and regulatory activities in the energy area, maintaining fire systems, and process safety equipment.

The incumbent will provide relief supervision to a team of energy operators.  In addition, the back up chief power engineer will develop training systems and operating procedures, assist with shift coverage when needed and assist with special projects.

Qualifications:

  • Will possess a 3rd Class Power Engineer certification;
  • Extensive operating and maintenance experience would be an asset;
  • Previous experience working within an OSB environment would be beneficial;
  • Maintenance planning with computer experience would be an asset;
  • Must be able to work both individually and as part of a team;
  • Excellent leadership skills together with strong communication and problem-solving skills are crucial to the success of this position.
