Reporting to the Regional Controls Systems Specialist, this position is responsible for recommending methods to improve safety, quality, throughput, and uptime. Additionally, they will have a good working knowledge of OSB equipment from an optimization, controls and mechanical point of view.

This includes finding solutions for complex problems, continually search for process improvements, and researching technical details behind the processes used. The CSS will interface frequently with the other Control Systems Specialists in order to ensure standards and best practices are adhered to.

Qualifications:

  • 5 + years of experience in forest products manufacturing;
  • Experience with:
    • PLC ladder logic;
    • Motion control;
    • Variable frequency drives;
    • Visualization systems (HMIs).
  • Post-secondary degree/diploma in a technical/engineering discipline;
  • Professional certification as an engineer or technologist.
  • Good working knowledge of OSB equipment from an optimization, controls and mechanical point of view;
  • Good working knowledge of Ethernet networking.
