The Mechanical Team Leader is accountable for the organization and supervision of all maintenance personnel and activities within the board manufacturing process areas. They are also in charge of supporting the execution of electrical work through the scheduling, coordinating and directing of mechanical resources.  Coordinates the availability of facilities and equipment to be worked on, ensures part, materials, special tools, and equipment, personnel, and skills for orderly and efficient work execution are available. Ensures proper documentation of work performed is provided in accordance with standard practices used. This position is also responsible to ensure all company work rules, policies and safety rules are adhered to by those within their supervision.

Qualifications:

  • Millwright certification with a provincial or inter-provincial ticket preferred;
  • Good working knowledge of OSB manufacturing, continuous process operations, large industrial machinery, and 24-hour operations;
  • Experience working with hydraulic systems;
  • Extensive supervisory experience in an industrial production environment;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills;
  • Familiarity with computerized maintenance systems;
  • Leadership experience managing a team of a minimum of 5 people including apprentices;
  • Available for on-call duty a week per month;
  • Pneumatic systems experience is preferred;
  • Problem-solving skills, root cause analysis, six sigma certification preferred;
  • Proven ability to assist operations with maximizing the productivity of equipment, people and resources as it relates to their area of responsibility.
