West Fraser is requesting bids to provide log scaling services for its sawmill located in High Prairie Alberta.
A current Alberta log scaling license is required. Bids should be by the gross cubic meter scaled.
Additional information is provided below:
- Scaling services are required for approximately 10 months of the year.
- Approximately 400 sample loads are scaled per year
- Approximately 95% of the loads are cut to length loads
- Heavy scaling months are from November to March
- No scaling is generally required in April and May
- Some weekend scaling may be required
- To keep current with sampling scalers may be required to scale multiple days per week.
