Millar Western’s Whitecourt Pulp Division is seeking an Operational Accountant. Reporting to the Operations Controller, this individual will be responsible for implementing and documenting optimal business processes as well as the preparation of month-end statements, inventory valuations and counts, production and account reconciliations, journal entries and variance analysis. He or she will also be responsible for operational forecasts, budgeting, and cost and ad hoc analyses for site management.
The Ideal Candidate:
Qualified candidates will have related education and at least three years of experience in cost accounting and working on the preparation of financial reporting. They will be knowledgeable of ERP systems, preferably SAP, and possess excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. An accounting designation and a background in manufacturing, preferably forestry, would be considered assets.
