Woodlands Transportation Dispatcher - Work Wild

Alberta-Pacific Forest Industries Inc. (Al-Pac) is seeking a casual Dispatcher to join the Woodlands Transportation team at the mill site near Athabasca, AB. The Dispatcher is responsible for the effective coordination of a fleet of drivers and vehicles for the Woodlands Transportation Business Unit. This position serves as the first point-of-contact for drivers regarding deliveries and safety concerns and ensures the continuity of day-to-day dispatch operations. The successful candidate will have experience in the transportation industry and will have the flexibility manage multiple priorities. The Woodlands team is looking for a reliable individual with strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to trouble-shoot and problem-solve effectively.

This is a non-permanent casual position working on an as-needed basis. This is coverage for a shift position, working days and nights.

Responsibilities

• Coordination of activities for the log haul fleet
• Dispatching trucks
• Monitor safety compliance
• Enforcing of Woodlands log haul Policies and procedures and Alberta Transportation Regulations
• Assist in Emergency Response for Woodlands activities
• Assisting with administrative duties and data entry

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of dispatching, call-center, or similar experience
• Knowledgeable in the transportation industry
• Valid driver’s license
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Good working knowledge of computer systems
• Self-motivated individual who works well in a team environment
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical and multi-tasking skills
• Ability to do physical labor and other strenuous physical tasks in all weather conditions
